Area Information

The Kentucky Lake and Paris, Tennessee area is one of the nation's top retirement communities and has been recognized as such by several national organizations and publications. The area boasts an array of amenities, including a mild climate, natural beauty, and low crime rates, in addition to quality healthcare, a low cost of living, and an abundance of recreational and entertainment opportunities.

Serving as the area's heart of outdoor recreation is Kentucky Lake, one of the world's largest man-made lakes. With 2,380 miles of shoreline and 160,000 acres of water, the lake area offers everything when it comes to fishing, boating, hiking and camping. Whether you prefer the adventure of the outdoors, the sport and leisure of golf and fishing, or the excitement of the water, you can find it all at Kentucky Lake.

Also unique to the area is the Paris-Henry County Heritage Museum. Built in 1916 by philanthropist Col. O. C. Barton and known as "the crown jewel of Paris,"  the beautiful mansion serves as a museum, an archive, and a research and educational center. Their "Historical Walking Tour" will take you through downtown Paris, the North Poplar Street Historic District and the Old City Cemetery, all of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
